Patricia Ann Robinson January 17, 1946 – January
27, 2026
Patricia (Pat) Robinson of Queensland, died at
Shoreham Village, Chester, on January 27, 2026, after a series of
strokes. She is survived by her sister, Margaret (Peggy)
Hudson.
Pat grew up on a wheat farm in eastern Washington
State, where she and Peggy enjoyed horseback riding, riding
in the back of the wheat truck during harvest, playing with their dogs
and cats, and roller skating in the unfinished basement of the family
home. Pat began her education in a 2-room rural school and
was immediately promoted to 2nd grade. She finished
high school at the top of her class and then earned bachelor's and
master's degrees from the University of Arizona. She had so many
interests and talents. She worked for a time in costuming
for movies and TV, and she also designed and made wonderful costumes
for the young son of one of her friends. He is currently a
film editor, director, and producer. Pat later pursued
graduate work in accounting at the University of Alberta, hoping to be
of help to nonprofits. Pat came to Nova Scotia for a faculty
post at St. Mary's University, bought and refurbished a house, and
proudly and gratefully became a Canadian citizen. She was
active in AA for many years, essentially the last half of her
life. In retirement, she enjoyed volunteering tutoring math
for adult learners, and she was so proud of all of them. Pat
had a positive outlook, a curious and creative mind, a zany sense of
humor, a lifelong love of books and cats, and a great appreciation for
the many friendships she developed over the years. A
memorial service will be arranged in the future. Arrangements are
under the direction of the R.A. Corkum Funeral Home,
Wileville. On-line condolences may be made by
