Isabel Dorothy Wagner
July 24, 1926 –
January 28, 2026 - Age 99
Isabel Dorothy Wagner of Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay,
passed away peacefully at the age of 99. Born on July 24, 1926, in
Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Isabel lived a long and meaningful life
rooted in family and community.
A proud graduate of Normal
College in Truro, Isabel dedicated her career to education. She began
teaching in her home community of Upper Northfield and continued to
shape young minds in Upper Branch, West Northfield, Hebbville,
Middlewood, and Bridgewater (Riverview).
Outside the
classroom, Isabel embraced life with curiosity and enthusiasm. She
enjoyed word searches, crosswords, and jigsaw puzzles, and could often
be found bowling, fishing, crafting, or heading out on bus trips and
travels. An outdoors enthusiast, she also enjoyed
hunting—always bringing a sense of adventure to whatever she
pursued.
Isabel was predeceased by her husband of 50 years,
Perle Wagner; her parents, Dorothy (Randall) and Archibald Ramey; and
her brother, Garth Ramey.
She is lovingly remembered by her
children, Philip Wagner (Jan) and Dale Wagner (Josie); her
grandchildren, Troy Wagner (Tracy) and Nikole Wagner; and her
great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jenna, and Reagan. Isabel’s
legacy lives on through her family, who will forever cherish her
strength, and gentle humor.
Service arrangements have been
entrusted to R.A. Corkum Funeral Home Ltd. A celebration of life will
be held on Wednesday, February 4 at 11:00AM at R.A. Corkum Funeral
Home in Wileville with a reception to follow at The Royal Canadian
Legion in Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be
made to a charity of choice.
The family would like to
extend a thank you to the staff of the Blue Lupine Wing at Mahone
Nursing Home (MacLeod Cares) and to Dr. Raymond for their kind and
compassionate care.
