Ryan Joseph Benoit, 39, of Halifax passed away suddenly at the QE11 on January 25, 2026.
He was the son of Geoff and Patsy (Robar) Benoit and grew up in Blockhouse.

After graduating from Parkview Educational Centre he went on to pursue his career as an IT Specialist and worked with Invest Nova Scotia (Previously Innova Corp) for several years. He loved anything with computers and was great at his job.

He always kept in touch with his high school friends when he came back to Lunenburg County or the valley to visit his close friend Philip.

Ryan enjoyed the outdoors and took every opportunity to get on his bike and go for a ride. Movie nights either at his parents or at his Aunt and Uncle’s home with lots of homemade pizza and mini chocolate bars were common on many Friday nights during the summer. Movie night will never be the same without him.

He had a special bond with his Aunt Gail and they both referred many times to various Seinfeld episodes quoting lines from the show. Christmas time always included a Seinfeld related gift.

Besides his parents he is also survived by several aunts and uncles and many close friends including Kyle and Nick who have adopted his 2 cats Lola and Snowball.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Wellington and Kathleen Robar and paternal grandparents Stephen and Mae Benoit.

We will miss that smile and his great sense of humour and our lives have been changed forever.

Memorial service will be held Friday February 6 at 2pm at R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville.
Private burial will be at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to S.H.A.I.D.
