
We announce the peaceful passing of Vera Marie Baker of
Pleasantville at home on September 26, 2025.
She was born
in Pleasantville to Gladys & Calder Richards on February 8,
1933.
In her younger years she worked at Creasers
Factory in LaHave, she then started looking after children at home,
she was always a part of the Pleasantville Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years Lee Baker, and many
nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by
her parents Gladys & Calder
Richards; daughter Carol; brothers Clifton
(Lillian), Ralph (Margaret), Elmer and twin Eldred; sister Norma
(Gerald) and niece Bonnie Blinn-Richards.
The family would
like to give special thanks to Kathy (care-giver) for her compassion,
excellent care and going above and beyond caring for both Vera and Lee
for over this past year.
Also, thanks to Paula, Kim and the
team at Palliative Care, Gillian and team at Home Support, ParaMed,
VON team, Red Cross, EHS team, and Dr. Thibodeau.
As per
her wishes, cremation has taken place.
Funeral will be held
at R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville on Tuesday October 7 at 2 pm.
Committal will follow in Pleasantville Cemetery.
Service
will be officiated Rev. Ben MacMichael (Pleasantville Baptist Church)
Organist is Paul Haughn.
