It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Glen Raymond Hawkins, 52, of Branch LaHave on Wednesday, July 30 at South Shore Regional Hospital. He fought a brave fight suffering from cancer for the past six months. Glen was born in St. John's, NL, on January 7, 1973, the eldest son of Ray and LaVerne (Whynot) Hawkins. Glen worked in retail most of his working life and made friends wherever he went, judging no one, being a friend to all and had a caring, kind and gentle heart. Glen lived his entire life in Branch LaHave.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his younger brother Randy, his wife Allison and their son Marcus whom Glen loved beyond measure, uncles Ernest (Nancy), Ron (Gen), Chris (Doreen), Ian (Marlene), aunts Patricia (Gene), Bertha, Betty D., Betty K., cousins in NS, NL, and Ontario. He was predeceased by his grandparents Wilfred and Hazel Whynot, John and Ann Hawkins, uncles Elmer, Kevin, Louie (his godfather), Derrick, aunts Joye, Marion, and Colleen.

There will be no visitation or service by Glen's request. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. When determined, his ashes will be interred next to his grandparents in Hillside Cemetery in Branch LaHave. No flowers by request. Memorial donations may be made to The Lodge that Gives in Halifax, Hillside Cemetery, Branch LaHave or charity of choice.

Thanks to his family physician, Dr. N. Maguire, his surgeons, radiation and medical oncologists, 3B VG. hospital nurses, chemo nurses, radiation nurses and techs at the Dixon Centre and finally to family and friends for their support, love and kindness. We appreciate everyone of you.

"In our hearts forever, till we meet again my precious son."
