It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Aubrey Lloyd McCarthy, 82. Aubrey passed away peacefully with his family by his side at home in his beloved cabin on February 23rd, 2025 in Conquerall Mills.
Aubrey was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved having family and friends gathered around wherever he was, especially at the camp. He was dedicated to his family business, McCarthy’s Towing, that he and his brother, Byron, started close to 50 years ago. He also gave his service for 53 years to the Hebb’s Cross Fire Department and loved to help run their famous breakfasts. He enjoyed going to the races and hockey games. He also had a passion for hunting. He was a very kind and gentle soul who was loved by so many.
Aubrey is survived by his loving wife, and best friend, Margaret (Getson), of 59 years. As well as his 2 sons, Jack (Tammy) and Todd (Tish), granddaughter Sarah (Christian), great-grandson Levi and honorary grandson Evan. As well as brothers, Johnny (Betty), Phillip (Christine), Byron (Emily), Earl (Debbie), sister Annette (Jim), and sister-in-law Wanda. Aubrey was predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Jean (Llewellyn), as well as his brother Giffin.
The family would like to thank Reverend Ott, the Palliative Care Team, specifically Paula Saile R.N. and Dr. Gibson , VON and the EHS paramedics for their care during this difficult time.
Visitation will be held at R. A. Corkum Funeral Home, in Wileville, on Thursday February 27th from 7-9pm. Funeral will be held at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Phoenix Street, Bridgewater, on Friday February 28th at 1pm. Private family interment will be held  at Hebbville Cemetery.  Everyone is welcome to join the family  for a reception at the Hebb’s Cross Firehall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Calvary Lutheran Church in Middlewood, Hebb’s Cross Fire Department or a charity of your choice.
