BOLIVAR, St. Clair Joseph "Clair"
January 9, 1932- December 15, 2024 - 92 years.
It is with deep sadness and much love that we mourn the
passing of St. Clair Bolivar on December 15, 2024 at Shoreham Village
in Chester, after a short illness. St. Clair was 92 years old. Born in
Baker Settlement, he was the oldest son of the late Clyde and Bernice
(Mailman) Bolivar.
St. Clair entered the working world
starting at Bowater Mersey- with a crosscut saw and a double bitted
axe. He worked at Rafuse Equipment as a brake specialist, Department
of Highways building road signs and a painting specialist with Stelman
Crouse. He retired after 15 years of service at Michelin Tire in 1990,
where he received a certificate for not missing a single day of work.
Even during his early school days he received a
certificate in 1947 from the Department of Education for 6 years of
perfect school attendance.
He spent the last number of years living at Shoreham Village in Chester. He and his good friend Charlie Teal received a world record certificate for playing 70 games of Cribbage in 24 hours. They only stopped long enough for bathroom breaks and medications.
He spent most of his retirement years working in his woodlot cutting his logs, firewood and Christmas trees.
He is survived by two sons Wade (Wanda) Bolivar, Oakhill and Dick (Carolyn) Bolivar, Alberta; Grandchildren, Barrett Bolivar, Bridgewater, Pam (Jamie) Meisner, Chelsea, Shilo Bolivar, Baker Settlement, Jeffrey Windfield, Alberta; Great Grandchildren, Tyler (Kala) Meisner, Waterloo, Jessalyn Meisner, Chelsea, Robin Meisner, Liverpool, Conner Benoit, Baker Settlement, Jackson Demone, Baker Settlement, Emma Winfield, Alberta, Koen Winfield, Alberta, Ariel Welch-Chitty, Waterloo; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Mary in 2022. They were
married for 71 years.
He was also predeceased by two
brothers, Douglas (Carole) Bolivar, West LaHave, Ernest (Marilyn)
Bolivar, Bridgewater. He is survived by two brothers, George (Mary
Lou), Newcombville and Vernon (Linda) Bolivar, Lower
Branch.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at a later date (date and time will be posted when confirmed) in Baker Settlement Cemetery, Reverend Willis Ott officiating.
