
Heisler, Doris Mae (Boehner)
Age 93, of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, passed away November 26, 2024 at South Shore Regional Hospital.
She was born November 30, 1930 in Murray River, PEI, to Albro and Lenora (Gosbee) Boehner.
Doris is survived by daughter, Lynn Heisler, grandsons Alan, Stephen and Trevor, great grandchildren Zachary, Makayla, Jayden, Easton, Alayia and Eliana, great-great grandson Mylo, sister, Lois (Don) and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Lawrence Stephen Heisler; sister, Joan (Bob) and two nephews.
Doris enjoyed her many years of work with N.S. Power Corporation in Chester until her retirement in 1991. Previous employers included Maritime Tel & Tel and Simpsons in Halifax, N.S. Earlier years saw her take on the position of teacher in a one room schoolhouse in Indian Point, N.S. During her time in that community, she met her loving husband, Lawrence.
A skilled seamstress, Doris loved sewing and spent many happy hours creating magic with fabric. Playing piano and electric organ also brought her much joy.
Special thanks to the staff at Shoreham Village, Chester and Ryan Hall, Bridgewater, as well as Dr. Heather Robertson and staff at South Shore Regional Hospital for their care and compassion. Much love and appreciation to niece, Carla, for her help over the past five years.
