LUCA’S STORY
I would like to introduce myself and tell my short story.
My name is Luca Kenneth Christoper Zinck. I graced this world a little early on September 29th, 2024, weighing 5lbs 3 oz. After a late-night emergency ambulance ride to the IWK with my mommy keeping me safe in her tummy and my Nana Debbie England helping my mama Jill England control those darn contractions. Boy, was she hurting. Sorry about that mom.
Grampie Terry England and my dad Chris Zinck had to stay behind as they are not good with hospitals.
Later that day I had a big surprise. My Big sister Madee and Big brother Jack and my daddy Chris Zinck came to meet me, and they had presents. Yea, I love presents!! Aunt Trish McLeod drove them, but Uncle Terry England stayed home to watch over my cousins Abby England, Lee-Ann Jefferson and Thomas Jefferson. My other cousins Mia and Cohen England were home with their Mom Nicole Smith and Gary Jefferson was with his Nan.
Unfortunately, my darn heart and little lungs just were not strong enough to let me grace this world a little longer.
For 38 days with many ups and downs and lots of pictures my Nannie Shannon Jackway, Nannie Jackie Zinck, Uncle Kenny England, Nannie Bernice Loeb, Great Nana Faye Zinck and my Great Poppy Harris Zinck said, mom enough is enough. They were patiently waiting here in heaven to love and cuddle me. It is time.
The hardest selfless decision my mom and dad ever had to make was to let me go to their arms.
On November 6th, 2024, mommy and daddy had me baptized with my godmother Mia England, Aunt Wendy, Aunt Trish and Nanny Deb at their sides and later that afternoon mommy and daddy let me go to Heaven. Wow, it is so beautiful up here.
My Great Grandpa Marcel Chabot, Aunt Mary Ann Wellwood, Uncle Bert Chabot Great Grandpa Jack England and Great Grandma Alice England, (also know as the Old Man and Old Woman) were so excited that they would get cuddles too. Waiting in Heavens Playground are some of my cousins Winston, Jessie, Zayne and Joshua. I can't wait for them to push me on the swing.
So saddened that they did not get to meet me and cuddle me are my Poppy Scott Crouse, Great Nan Carolyn Crouse, Aunt Brenda & Uncle Tom Moore, Aunt Kristi & Uncle Brian Benjamin, Aunt Jenn & Uncle Weldon Best, Aunt Laverne Mahar, Uncle Jeff England, Uncle Luke Wellwood & Aunt Deanna Doyle, Grampa Mike and Nana Barb O'Brian, Aunt Wendy & Uncle David Zinck, Uncle Shannon Zinck, Uncle Dana Zinck, Uncle Aaron Crouse along with my cousins Richard Moore, Nathan & Dayla Moore, Beth Moore & Matt Whitney, Katelyn Best & Jeremy Brown, Chandler Bent, Kaden Young, Tim Wellwood, John & Crystal Blynd, Heather Best, Robert Best, Jenna Chabot & Morgan Cottreau, Jasmine Chabot & Stephan Lavoie and so many other aunts, uncles and cousins that this would be a book and not a story if I listed them all.
My mommy and daddy would like to thank Krista Corkum from R. A. Corkum Funeral Home for taking such good care of me.
I would like to thank Lily Winters and Tina Oickle for everything they have done and continue to do for our family and for keeping my Big sister Madee, so mom and dad could spend everyday with me.
I would like to thank my Nurses and Doctors at the NIC U Unit of the IWK that looked after me and did everything they could to make me better.
Donations in my memory, and I hope you dig as deep as you can, may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, The IWK Children's Hospital or a charity of your choice.
