Hazel Annie Hebb, 86, of Wileville, passed away peacefully on
Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Halifax Infirmary Hospital, surrounded by
her loving family. Born in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of the
late Ralph and Iona (Wamback) LeGay. Hazel was the last surviving
member of her immediate family. A devoted wife, mother, and
grandmother, Hazel dedicated her life to raising her family and
cherished them deeply. She is survived by her loving husband, Martin,
with whom she shared 66 years of marriage. Hazel leaves behind her
son, Royden (Sonia) Hebb, and her daughter, Jo-Anne (Jeff) Wentzell,
as well as her cherished grandchildren: Taylor, Lauren, Jaime, Kate,
Adam, and Danielle. Hazel found joy in square dancing every Saturday
with the Sunrise Square Dancing Club. She was actively involved in the
4-H community as a leader and dedicated her time volunteering with the
Ladies Auxiliary for the Wileville Fire Department. Family camping
trips to Mush-A-Mush were among her favorite memories. In her later
years, Hazel enjoyed watching curling tournaments and FBI shows on TV.
She loved playing card games with her grandchildren while sharing tea
and cookies. Hazel also took pleasure in reading, gardening, and going
for Sunday drives with her husband. Her warmth, love, and gentle
spirit will be missed.
Memorial service will be held at 2pm
on Friday August 9th, 2024 at the Bridgewater United Church. Reverend
