Trevor passed away suddenly but peacefully at his home in Italy Cross on May 3, 2024. He lived a healthy, active life until about 6 weeks before his passing when he was stricken with cancer.

He was a graduate of Acadia University and taught for his entire career of 32 years at Hebbville school, where he took a keen interest in and was very popular with his students.

His younger life was full of youthful misadventures with the "Middlewood gang" - drag racing, playing in a bluegrass band, drinking and just enjoying life to the fullest.

Trevor cleared the land and built his own home with lumber that he had cut with the help of his father, Calvin, who was his constant companion until his death in 2001. After Calvin’s passing, Trevor found comfort in his morning coffees with his sister, Annette, who had moved into their childhood home.

He was a wonderful and devoted husband to JoAnne for 44 years; and was a great role model to his sons who he taught to be self-reliant. Because of his guidance, they are able to master most any repair they attempt - whether welding, maintaining vehicles, plumbing, basic carpentry and electrical. Our home was always full of laughter when the family got together.

His "happy place" was in the woods and at his camp. Anytime he could get his tractor stuck or break something that he then needed to repair in his garage was a bonus as far as he was concerned.

Old cars were his passion, especially his Jetta and Volvo. They were his babies - they were never driven on dirt or salted roads and were always meticulously maintained and stored inside. Our nightly rides will be missed by his wife, along with sitting together by the window drinking coffee while watching birds at the feeders and our Sunday morning breakfasts at McDonalds. His dogs are going to miss their evening cuddles on the couch.

Trevor looked forward to his regular breakfast meetings with his long-time friends Dave, Greg and Wally.

Left with fond memories are his wife and constant companion of 44 years, JoAnne (Croft); sons Alexander (Nicole) of Middlewood, Caleb (Valerie) of Windsor, and Joshua (Jennifer) of Oromocto, NB. He is also survived by his brother Wayne (Madelyn) of Middlewood; grandchildren: Logan, Emma, Madison, Julien, Carly, Roman and Dylan; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Calvin and Muriel (Bollivar) Sarty, he was predeceased by his sister Annette Saunders.

There will be no service or visitation as per his wishes. Memorial donations may be made to the Food Bank, SHAID animal shelter or your charity of choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville, where on-line condolences may be made by visiting www.corkumfuneralhome.ca
