IYOUPE, Lawrence Jerome - 76, Bridgewater. It is with great sadness that the family of Lawrence Iyoupe announce his passing on February 29, 2024 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, after a very long battle with cancer always fighting and did so until the end of his life.

Born March 9, 1947, Lawrence, or to all who knew him, Youpie, was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Family was his whole world and he loved everyone with all his heart. He will truly be missed.

Dad lived life to the fullest and could never sit still. He would do anything for anyone and give you the shirt off his back, no questions asked. If you knew dad, you knew you were loved.

At a ripe age of 14 years old, dad decided that a life of a fisherman was his calling. He worked hard to provide for his family, never complaining. Once a scallop fisherman always a fisherman. When he retired he became a Jack of all trades.

Lawrence was predeceased by his parents, two brothers Johnny and Joseph, as well as two grandsons Colton and Colby. He leaves behind a loving wife of 53 years, Beverly; two daughters, Karen (Neil) Slauenwhite, Lapland, Shelley (Bliss) Iyoupe, Italy Cross and a dear friend, Laval Paradis, Northfield, whom he always considered a son. He also leaves behind his one and only granddaughter McKenzie Slauenwhite.

A special thank-you to Jerry Daniels for all the drives in and out of Halifax for his treatments and always being there and Dr. Salomon for the care he received.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. A graveside burial for family will happen at a later date.
