Michael Ralph Muise, age 65, passed away suddenly on
September 27th 2023 at his beloved camp in West Dalhousie. He was born
in Yarmouth but spent most of his life in Port Medway after moving
there at 16 and meeting his future wife, Barb. Mike was a fisherman
throughout his life, lobstering on his boats "Miss Rebecca"
and later "Close to the Edge" but also spent time ground
fishing and constructing rock walls in his younger years. When not
fishing, much of his spare time was spent at the camp, snowmobiling,
four wheeling, canoeing, bass fishing and playing the guitar with
family and friends. In recent years he spent winters travelling for
snowmobile trips to New Brunswick and Quebec with the crew in order to
find the snow and rack up the miles.
He was well known for
always being up for a conversation with anyone willing to partake and
lending a hand to any friend or fellow fisherman in need. He also was
one who could never be idle, always having to keep himself busy,
either landscaping his property, which he took great pride in, or
working on other projects around the house or camp.
Mike
will be greatly missed by his wife Barb; son, Andy; daughter, Rebecca
(Rickey) Lavender; mother, Loraine Boudreau; grandchildren, Alexa,
Logan and Hope Roop; brother, John (Bertha) Rodgerson; sister Judy
(Monty) Stratton, as well as many extended relatives, friends and
loving hound, Bella. He was predeceased by his father, James Muise,
and stepfather, Abel Boudreau.
Cremation has taken place
under the direction of R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. A
celebration of Mike’s life will be held at 1pm on Friday
October 27, at the Port Medway Fire Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be made to the Nova Scotia SPCA or animal shelter of
