Eugene
Clyde Oickle -72 of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully
with his daughter by his side on September 15,2023 at South Shore
Regional Hospital. Born and raised in Milton, Nova Scotia, son of the
late Malcolm and Cora Oickle of Liverpool. Eugene is survived by his
son Glen Oickle, daughter Lisa Oickle (Kenny Wilson) Grandchildren
Kolby, Makayla, Allie, Cooper, and Great Grandchild
Sophie.
Eugene grew up in Liverpool (Milton), NS and married his one true love the late Ruthanne Irene Oickle (Stewart) of Lockeport, NS. They raised two children, and settled down in Bridgewater where Eugene started his career at Michelin. He later went on to apply his Master Carpenter skills as a general contractor with Merles Contracting Ltd. While Gene worked on too many projects to count, his best accomplishment was designing and building a shuttle for the Bridgewater parade before retiring.
Survived by his Brother Gary Oickle (Diane) Sister Susan Bezanson (Andy) Rosilyn Ross, and sister In-law Jackie Oickle. In-laws Kathleen Weir (Richard) Yvonne Decker (James) Daniel Stewart, Kayline Stewart, and predeceased by Brother Wayne Oickle, In-laws Charles Ross, Betty Hersey and Gene Stewart.
Gene was a very loving, hardworking man and father who loved his family deeply and enjoyed every moment spent with them, He will be greatly missed.
Graveside service will be held 12:00pm Friday in Milton Community Cemetery, followed by a memorial gathering from 1-3pm in Milton Christian Church, 280 NS Trunk 8. Rev. Dr. Doug Mailman Officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Canada. Arrangements entrusted to R.A.
