Joyce Marion Porter (Mooers)
Currently of Bridgewater passed away peacefully on January 13, 2023 with Duane and Sheila at her side.

Born in Milton, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Mooers and Edith Mooers (Whynot).

Being in her 99th year she lived a good, long and happy life after surviving Tuberculosis in her early twenties, and is the last surviving member of her immediate family.

After moving to Ottawa she married and raised her family but eventually returned to Nova Scotia. Over the years Joyce was a diligent home maker, loved sewing, entertaining with friends, dancing with her husband Seymour and enjoyed travelling with her family. Always looking for a good classic movie to watch or just listening to her favourite music. She was a long time, faithful member of the Jehovah’s Witness community for over 70 years.

She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her devoted son Duane, and beloved daughter in law Sheila of Lunenburg, along with many nieces and nephews across Canada.

Predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Seymour Porter; sisters Lillian, Phyllis and brothers, Ronald, Roland and Clarence.

A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in New Germany on January 28, 2023 at 2:00pm. Brady Dorey officiating. Zoom option will also be available and the link will be posted when provided.
