                                  In Loving Memory of
                                   John "Jack" Wilson

             Saturday June 10, 1939- Thursday June 23, 2022

John, "Jack" Wilson - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Husband, Dad, Puppa and Friend. Jack passed away peacefully at home with his wife Nettie and daughter Dawn by his side. Jack was born in Tillsonburg Ontario to parents, Jasper and Mabel (Neureuther) Wilson. He was also predeceased by his brothers Don, Chuck and Howard. Left in mourning are his wife Nettie; son Mark (Kim); daughter Dawn (Timothy); two grandsons Johnathan, Christopher; two step grandsons Chaice and Cole. He is also survived by his sister Marjorie Bowler; sister-in-laws Karen Hernendez and Cynthia Smith; brother-in-laws Gilbert and Gordon Munroe and Living nieces, nephews and special family friends.

Jack started his first job picking tobacco in Tillsonburg Ontario, then moved to a job at a gas station where he thought he would enjoy working as a mechanic, but, he didn’t like the greasy hands. He found cleaner hands when he went to building pools, but found his real love when he started building houses.

Jack met Nettie in a Laundromat in Woodstock with two loving children in tow. Their conversations developed into a love connection. Jack took a trip to Port Medway in Nova Scotia where he fell in love again and they moved to Port Medway in 1979 and officially got married in April 1997.

Jack continued working in carpentry when he joined Lobax and then went to Nauss Brothers family as a carpenter and vinyl siding specialist where he retired at 60 years young.

Jack also mentored his son Mark in carpentry and was a very proud father when Mark received the "Golden Hammer Award" from the Carpentry Course at NSCC Bridgewater.

Not only was his name "Jack" but he as a Jack of all trades. There wasn’t any job too big or small around the house that he wouldn’t tackle. He was always willing to help a neighbour or two.

Jack grew up on his parent’s farm in Tillsonburg working in their greenhouses. He continued his love for gardening by having picture perfect gardens around the house. People from all over would stop to take pictures and have conversations with Jack and Nettie about their flowers.

At Christmas, Jack loved his Christmas Lights outside, always adding more every year.

After his retirement, he still kept busy with morning trips around the Community in his car and stopping for the mail with his faithful dog George. Later on, up until his passing, Jack took an interest in the activities at the corner and on his street. Every time you would visit you would hear him say "Who is that Nettie?", so-n-so just went by or Caley (Niece) just got home.

Our wonderful Puppa always made time for us 3-wheeling, playing dinkies, swimming, camping, sledding or playing in the snow. Most of all, his guidance will be missed as he always said what was on his mind and in his heart.

Many thanks to Queens VON, especially RN Eric Bulkin, the Palliative Care team; Natalie Brooks, Dr. Munroe and Amy Fredricks; Homecare Coordinator Andrea Perry and wonderful Queens Home Support Workers who were so tender and kind to Jack. Also thank you to Family First Medical, Yarmouth, Girt Sweeney, Red Cross Bridgewater for the equipment needed to stay in his home. Thank you to all of our loving family and friends who were there to love and support us with everything we needed. God Bless you all.

Arrangements are entrusted to the R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. There will be no visitation or service by request. Memorial Donations may be made to the Lodge that gives, Halifax or the Rose Fund, Bridgewater. On-line condolences may be made by visiting www.corkumfuneralhome.ca
