Betty Louise Crawford (Smith), 75 – Bridgewater, after a short fight with lung disease passed away peacefully with her 3 children by her side at the South Shore Regional Hospital on May 15, 2022. She was the daughter of the late William and Vivian Smith.
Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Betty, knew she was an honest and true Toronto Maple Leafs fan and one spunky lady who always spoke her mind.
She worked in the food industry as a waitress for many years in Dartmouth and Bridgewater, she was always willing to help at the Conquerall Bank Fire Department suppers, being the first to greet everyone with her beautiful smile.
Surviving are her children, Tammy (Jim Wamboldt) Conquerall Bank, Timmy (Karalee Hirtle) West Northfield, Tracy (Dave Macleod) Dartmouth, her grandchildren-Christa & Amanda Wamboldt, Chelsea & Bailey Crawford and Tim & Kristina Conway, her siblings Ron Smith (Myrna) and Norma Dorey (Brady) also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Arthur, Billy and sisters Myrtle Lohnes and Shirley Smith, The father of her children, Lloyd. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held in Hillside Cemetery, Broadcove.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at the Conquerall Bank Fire Hall at 2:30pm Thursday. Mom loved all animals, especially cats, to honour her you can donate to the SHAID Tree Animal Shelter or charity of choice.
Special thanks Dr. Du Toit, Dr. Chaisson and Dr. Edmonds, and the amazing nurses and staff from the 3rd floor and in ICU who made sure mom always had the best care.
