Curtis Abram - 86 of Rhodes Corner passed away Friday, October 17, 2014 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater on January 24, 1928 , he was the eldest son of the late Gilbert & Lillas (Deal) Whynot. He spent his younger days living with his family on a farm in Laconia before moving to Rhodes Corner and marrying Pearl M. (Woodworth) 61 years ago. He was a faithful member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Waterloo and then St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Rhodes Corner. He was a founding and honorary member of the Dayspring and District Fire Department serving on various committees. His major employment besides working in the woods and truck driving was custodian and bus driver for Centre Consolidated School then Good Wear Treaders (now G.C.R.) for 25 years. After retiring he and Pearl enjoyed many bus, plane and camping trips throughout Canada, Hawaii and the U.S.A. He leaves to mourn this loss, his wife Pearl; son Brian (Donna); daughter Peggy (Allen) Veinotte; 5 grandsons Lee (Carling), Brad (Brittany), Jonathan (Abbey), Jamie, Tyler (Courtney), also 1 month old great-grandson Aiden; sister Verlene Henderson; brothers, Keith, Emerson (Marilyn), Hazen (Judith); sister’s-in-law Audrey, Lillian; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Leaman, Raymond, Roland and baby brother in-infancy; brother-in-law Robert Henderson. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Memorial Service 2:00 p.m. Friday in St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Rhodes Corner. Pastor Greg Smith officiating. Interment in Silver Cemetery, Rhodes Corner. Family flowers only.
