GRACE,

Donald Reginald - 80 of Bridgewater passed away peacefully on August 15, 2014 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Branch Lahave, March 30, 1934, he was the son of the late Charles Keith and Jennie (Crouse) Grace. Don was a long time Bridgewater businessman and owner of Don Grace Car & Tire Sales for 45 years. Active in his community until recent years, he served on various automotive boards and committees for the Nova Scotia Government and was past Vice-President of the Bridgewater Chamber of Commerce. He served in the Bridgewater Fire Department, Bridgewater Lions Club, Kinsmen Club and also served as Light Horse Director for the South Shore "Big Ex". Over the years Don was a great supporter of local sports teams and local country music. An avid boxing and harness racing fan, he raised race horses at his farm in Pinehurst and was often seen dashing up and down the road in a sulky. Don loved telling stories of his experiences and sharing a joke or two with his friends. He is survived by his wife, Anne Hardy; sons, Tom (Vicky) and Tim (Gail); grandchildren Alex, Amy, Kyle and Ryan; sister Virginia (Earl) Seamone; brothers Bill (Karen), Granville (Patsy); numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Lawrence, Robert and half-brother Dalton Mailman. Private Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Flowers from the immediate family only.
