HENNEBERRY, Albert William - Hebbville, Lunenburg County, passed away May 22, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Point May, NL, he was a son of the late Joseph and Matilda (Lake) Henneberry. Albert came to Halifax when his family moved from NL in 1949. He began his lifelong love of carpentry as a carpenters helper building homes in Leiblin Park and Olie Subdivisions in Spryfield and then moved on as a foreman and Superintendent in building Thornhill Park and Greystone Subdivisions in Spryfield, a number of homes in Clayton Park and Dartmouth. He was also involved in the building of the Maritime Centre, Metro Centre, Scotia Square Simpsons, Shubie Canal, and a number of years on buildings in the Halifax Dock Yard. Albert then went on to Sable Island, Ramia Island and Cornerbrook NL while working for Foundation Maritime. As a Member of the Spryfield Lions Club, Albert became involved as a volunteer in the construction and maintenance of the Lions Rink. He was King Lion in 1982 and very involved in Lions Activities. After living in Thornhill Park, Spryfield for 37 years, Albert and Betty moved to Allendale, where they lived for one year while Albert looked after the construction of their retirement home in Hebbville in 1997. It was here that he became involved in the Bull Run Trail and Habitat for Humanity. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoors person. Albert is survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Betty Allen; daughters Patti Colford (Brian), Beaverbank, Debbie Shadbolt (Joey), Halifax; sons Jamie Henneberry (Gini), Harrietsfield, Peter Henneberry, Sambro, Tim Henneberry (Lori Anne), Allendale; grandchildren Caitlyn, Brianna and Ben Colford, Chelsea and Albert (A.J) Henneberry, Jillian and Jessica Shadbolt, Victoria and Catherine Henneberry; sisters Betty Hearn, Margaret Pettipas, Madonna Kunzli; brothers Gordon (Wendy), Eric (Sue), Michael (Grace), Junior (Louise), Pat (Judy), David (Julie). He was predeceased by sister Sarah Murphy; a brother in Infancy. Memorial Service will be 1:00pm Tuesday in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Exit 13, Wileville, where the family will receive friends from 11:30 until prior to the service at 1pm. Pastor Paul Jensen Officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in Halifax. Family flowers only. Memorial Donations in Alberts memory may be made to the VON Lunenburg County Branch, South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater or the Canadian Cancer Society.
