Pater, Cornelius Jr "Case" - 66- It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Case Pater on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater after a brief battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Cornelius Sr and Gerritje Pater. Case was the beloved husband of Marlene (Birt) and father of sons Chris Pater, (Shelley Cameron) Longueuil Quebec, and Craig Pater, (Claire Doucette) Winsloe, PEI and daughter Lori MacIsaac, Bridgewater and son-in-law Ian MacIsaac. He is survived by his siblings, Jerry van Kampen, Gerrit Pater, Cornelia Aten, Audrey Uyterlinde, Dinnie Larter, Eveyln Vessey and John Pater, all of PEI. Case immigrated to Canada from the Netherlands at the age of six where his family resided in PEI. Throughout his life Case worked as a dairy farmer, owned and operated a farm machinery business, and sold real estate before helping his wife run her Day Care Business in Charlottetown. In 2007, he and Marlene moved to Italy Cross, Nova Scotia to help his daughter, Lori and son-in-law Ian in the operation of their businesses.  Case will be remembered as having a terrific sense of humour and could always make you laugh or smile. He was the type of person you enjoyed spending time with. He was always very engaging, a great conversationalist and eager to know how your day was. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren Hannah, Emily, Emma and Alyson. He was very social and enjoyed the wonderful people of Bridgewater. He loved to smoke his pipe and had a taste for unusual delicacies. The world was better place with him in it.
