Gerald Douglas Hirtle
1925 – 2020
It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of Gerald Douglas Hirtle, age 95, at Hillside Pines Home for Special Care, on November 17, 2020. Born on June 10, 1925 in Baker Settlement, he was the son of the late Alfred and Lillian Hirtle, and the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley (Mailman), Son-in-Law Glen, Grandson Kevin, and Great-Grandson Easton.
He is survived by Daughter Paulette Woodworth, Bridgewater, Granddaughter Gail (Craig) Sinclair, and two Great-Granddaughters Leah Morrow, Halifax, and Erin Sinclair, Bridgewater, and several nephews and nieces.
Gerald was a retiree of Michelin Tires, Bridgewater and a 50-year member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 24.
A special "thank you" to the kind and caring Staff at Hillside Pines who assisted Dad for the past 15 months. He was always grateful for your dedication and kindness.
Cremation will be under the direction of R.A. Corkum Funeral Home. There will be no visitation and a private family burial will be held at Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater with Pastor Paul Jensen officiating.
