Charles Meisner

MEISNER, Charles Wilfred - Hebb’s Cross, passed away September 4, 2020 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, at the age of 69. Charles was a life long resident of Hebb’s Cross. He is well known and respected for his kindness, storytelling, and humour, as well as his love for his family and pet dogs, especially Lilly, his yellow Labrador. Surviving are his wife Margaret Meisner (nee Herman); daughter Kari Meisner; son Dr. Brad Meisner; sisters Eileen Haughn (Harold), Joan Slauenwhite (Jimmie), as well as many other extended family members. Charles was predeceased by his father Charles Freeman Meisner; mother Grace Meisner (nee Sarty); sister Pauleen Lohnes (Everett). Charles took great pride in his dedicated service to his community. He was a volunteer fireman for the Hebb’s Cross Fire Department for 30 years, including 17 years as Fire Chief-the longest serving chief of that Fire Department to date. He worked at Road Savers Maritimes Ltd, for the last 37 years and he would want to acknowledge the staff and many crew members he met during that period. In his spare time, Charles had a passion for cars, especially his Monte Carlo that he used to race. At Charles’ request there will be no funeral service. However, at a later date, a celebration of life will take place at Hebb’s Cross Fire Hall, and Covid -19 precautions will apply. Donations in Charles’ memory may be made to the Hebb’s Cross Fire Department or to the charity of your choice. On-line condolences may be made by visiting www.corkumfuneralhome.ca
