This is a love letter in honour

Our favourite Super Hero Tony St. Clair Himmelman 53, on Monday, June 10, 2019 in the VG Hospital, Halifax took his last breath in the arms of his loving wife Krista. Their love endures and forever inspires, much like the man himself.  Born in Liverpool, Nova Scotia on January 25, 1966, Tony was the son of Eileen Himmelman and the late Maurice Himmelman. Strong women raise strong sons and forever thankful for you love was he.

After graduating from Bridgewater Sr. High School Tony was employed at Gerhardt Property Improvement as a landscaper. Tony was a consummate, honorary family member of the Gerhardt clan, co-worker and true friend whose patience and his eye for detail within his work ethic was bar none. Camaraderie, laughter and endless Tim’s runs were legendary and will be sorely missed by everyone whom had the pleasure of working along side with him, whether within the company itself or the further lasting friendships he made with the clients he created for.

Being a devoted and loving husband, Dad and Poppy came just as second nature.  A blended family was created with the love of his life Krista which was never a his or hers scenario.  We were and are 7 together, forevermore.

Alexander, Paul, Amanda, Anthony and Matthew~ your Dad loved you with his first breath upon meeting each of you ‘til his very last. To have Alex hold his hand in all his stead through everything meant more to him than any material gift could ever pay tribute to all your love together.  Tony’s love was their lifeline in good times and bad. As you make your way through, know his love endures and will guide you through everything, even the hard bits.

Oh how Tony loved and was so proud of his little loves, his grandchildren- Poppy’s sidekicks. Aliannah, Hailey, Keegan, Jack, Gavin, Grayson and Elliot~ so excited he will always be to welcome any little loves to his life and he theirs. Look UP! Poppy’s love will find you always.  To his siblings Peggy, Dot, Jr, Marie, Elaine, Joyce and Brad~ Tony’s love will forever live within each of you with tales of childhood and the best funny stories to bring his laughter to life again.

To Tony’s nieces and nephews~ Uncle Tony’s love finds and guides and breathes within. Thank you for love.  To his beloved sister-in-law Nanci Douglas, mother-in-law Shirley Grant whom Tony treasured beyond measure~ may you always know how beautiful and loved you both are by him and all.  To his Ashlyn and Jenna~ forever know laughter and endless love and the value of correctly timed inappropriate humour, even when you are hurting to find your smiles again is always the right choice in any situation.

To his nurses who cared for and fell in love with our Tony, we owe you a thank you that can never be repaid.

There will be no service per his request. Cremation and countless arrangements lovingly taken care of by R.A. Corkum Funeral Home. Thank you Krista and staff.

Tony loved family and friends and life to the very end. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when we are ready.  Tony is guiding us ‘till we can.

                 Goodnight my love XO
