It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Milne Charles Pickings, age 92 of Bridgewater, formerly of Upper Lahave. He passed away peacefully at South Shore Regional Hospital on February 1, 2019 with family by his side. He was a successful businessman for many years (Good Wear Treaders) and served the people of Nova Scotia as a member of the Legislative Assembly for ten years. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late William Roy and Mary (Lownds) Pickings. Surviving are his loving wife of 68 years, Mary (Dauphinee); five children; Carol Pickings-Anthony (Greg), David (Judy Tanner), Sally (Frank Slauenwhite), Brian (Alice), Janet Silva (Poyo); three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Marion. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. The family wish to thank the staff at Ridgewood Assisted Living and the staff and doctors at South Shore Regional Hospital. Memorial Service will be held 11:00am Saturday May 25, 2019 in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater, Rev. Simon Davies Officiating.
