Kathleen Smith

SMITH (Wagner) , Kathleen Maxine - 83 of Ninevah, passed away January 10, 2019 in Rosedale Home For Special Care, New Germany. Born in Wilmot, Annapolis County, she lived in various places before moving to Simpsons Corner where the remainder of her childhood years were spent. In 1962, she married, and moved to Ninevah where she raised her family and cared for her mother-in-law until her passing. 1982 saw her and Alonzo move to Lower Branch with her mother and Shirley, whom she cared for as well until 1987, which brought many changes including the death of her beloved mother, and Shirley moved at that time into Lahave Manor. That year her and Lonnie also moved into town, living in different places there through the years. She cared for her husband Alonzo until the last year of his life in 1997. After that, she and her friend Roland Cross enjoyed some years together travelling, eating out, enjoying time and travel together. After his passing in 2011, Mom was very lonely, and with failing health her last move was made in November of 2017, back to her stompin grounds (New Germany) to Rosedale, where she lived the remainder of her days enjoying life to its fullest. She spent a great deal of time talking, looking at, and showing the pictures of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy and truly her most cherished possession here on earth. Throughout Mom’s life, she worked hard caring for her family, trying to raise her children in the fear and knowledge of the Lord. From those younger days until her death, Kathleen was a faithful Baptist Church member, attending church faithfully as health and travel provided. After having accepted at a young age (20’s) the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal saviour and placing her faith and trust in him as her only means of salvation and her way to heaven. Through her life faithfully to the end, was never ashamed to share her beliefs, testimony or scripture with others, whether they wanted to hear it or not.

Ps.16:6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yeah I have a goodly heritage.

We are thankful for Moms testimony, as her mothers before her as well as many other family members who are in heaven also through the sacrifice of the shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ and are now awaiting the time when we will see Mom again. I know her prayer, as well as ours is that you too will accept his sacrifice, if you have not already and will be reunited with her again one day. Surviving are her son Paul Wagner (Vickie); daughter Donna Dillman (Victor);  six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Wallace and Hilda (Durland) Wagner; husband Alonzo; one brother; two sisters; niece Shirley; friend Roland. There will be no visitation at the funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until prior to Funeral Service at 2:00pm Sunday in Blessed Hope Baptist Church, Oakhill, Rev. Percy Lake Officiating. Burial in Smith Cemetery, Ninevah.
