FRASER, Lorne Harold - 76, Clearland, Lunenburg County, died October 19th 2018, in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Dayspring, he was a son of the late Locke and Leone (Smith) Fraser. He was a 5th generation blacksmith and master bell maker on the South Shore. In his younger days was a member, and later an officer, and sailing instructor with the Bridgewater Sea Cadet Corp. Lorne served in the Royal Canadian Navy honouring his Country fighting Russian submarines in the early 60’s. Lorne enjoyed working in his blacksmith shop and enjoyed conversation with family and friends. He was an avid diver, swimmer, boxer all around sports enthusiast. loving the thrill of competing. Music was dear to his heart and he played in many local concerts, where he performed his magic and skill at joke telling. He is survived by his daughters Deborah Fraser-Brown, Ontario and Michelle Fraser, Avonport, Nova Scotia. Lorne had two grandsons Logan and Carson whom he dearly loved. Lorne is survived by brothers Vincent (Marge) Fraser, Farmville , Lee (Gladys) Fraser, Conquerall Mills and sister Bernadette (Calvin) Cook ,Dayspring ,as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters, Diann Tanner, Barbara Richard; brothers, Orlando in infancy, David, Maynard and Joseph. Cremation has taken place. Funeral services will be 2pm Fri Oct 26th at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Bridgewater, with Celebration of life to follow at St Joseph’s Hall. Interment will be held at a later date.
