HEBB, THELMA ESTELLE, passed away on September 12, 2017 At the age of 104. She was Born May 13, 1913 in Auburndale, Nova Scotia And was a Daughter of the late James Nathaniel Penny and Cora Albertha Bailey. She was Predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Donald Fetterly Hebb; Daughter Carolyn Sylvia Potts, (Bruce); Siblings; Arthur James Penny (Evelyn and Rita), Dorothy Evangeline Jefferson (Karl), Barbara Merle MacAuley, (Charles). She is survived by Son Wade Randal Hebb (Beverley); Grandchildren Stephen Wade Hebb (Carol); Donna Loreen Allison (Joe); Great Grandchildren, Christopher Leslie Hebb (Kristen) and Kaitlin Louise Hebb (Ethan). Thelma received her Nova Scotia Public School’s Teacher’s license on July 31, 1932 and taught at many different schools in Bridgewater area until her retirement in the early 1970’s. Thelma had a long life of giving back to the community, she was a long time member St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bridgewater; Past -President of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 24 Ladies Auxiliary; Past Noble Grand of Atlantic Rebekah Lodge No. 52, Bridgewater. Member of Canadian Red Cross; Retired Teachers association; St. Phillips Ladies Aid; Bridgewater Fire Dept. Ladies Aux. A very heartfelt thank you to the Mahone Bay Nursing Home staff for the excellent care they provided during her stay. The family will receive friends Tuesday September 19th, between 7:00-9:00pm at R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. A Celebration of life will be held 1:30pm on September 20th at St Paul’s Lutheran church, Bridgewater, Pastor Paul Jensen officiating. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater, followed by a reception at St. Paul’s Church Hall.
