David Marcus Cleveland, 75, of Bridgewater passed away at the South Shore Regional Hospital on May 21st, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Dave’s spirit is carried on by his best friend and loving wife of 46 years, Sheila (Pierce) Cleveland, his two daughters Linda Cleveland (Corey) and Sherri Keenan (Kirk), his grandchildren, Cole, Stella and Stephen and his brother Marshall Cleveland. He will also be greatly missed by several wonderful in-laws, many nieces and nephews, and his very dear friends.  Born on April 17th, 1941, David grew up in East Lahave. He started working at the young age of 16 and was skilled in a number of trades before working as a boom truck operator at NS Power until his retirement in 1998.  Dave loved all things golf. He loved to watch it, talk about it, and try to tell his son-in-law how to swing. He was an excellent cook and master of the BBQ. Dave loved to play cards and it was always entertaining to watch (and hear) him play. He also enjoyed curling and was passionate about music. He played in a number of bands throughout the years and was one heck of a dancer in his day. Most of all, Dave loved spending time with his family and good friends. Dave was a wonderful and devoted husband, a strong and supportive father and his love for his grandchildren was absolute.  In lieu of flowers, we ask everyone to celebrate Dave’s life in their own way – he would love to have you raise a glass and share your memories of him. Or a donation can also be made to the The Bridgewater Fire Department or the South Shore Regional Hospital Foundation.  A celebration of David’s life will be held Friday, May 27th in R.A. Corkum funeral home, Wileville, from 3 - 4pm, followed by a reception at the Bridgewater Fire Hall. On-line condolences may be made by visiting www.corkumfuneralhome.ca
